The first Annual Post-Holiday Party is upon us! Here are the details you all want to know. The party will take place at the Isle of Wight Hunt Club. GPS doesn't work to get you there, so a map will be posted in the near future. The cost will be $10/member or $15/couple, non-members $35/per person or $40/couple including a one year club membership. Please bring cash to pay at the door, that's all we can accept. We will be providing homebrewed beer, but feel free to bring any homebrew you wish to share as well. During social hour (4-6pm) a cornhole tournament will take place with exciting liquid prizes! Dinner will be served at 6pm and we will be providing hams, appropriately, and ask all members to bring a dish to pass. Please post what you're bringing to avoid repeats as much as possible. There will be big, big raffles with tickets ranging from $1-$10/each depending on the value of the prize, so bring lots cash!!! Tickets will be drawn starting at 7pm. The rest of the night will be full of more cornhole, bonfires, and, or course, lots of homebrew, so wear your drinking pants. Invite all of your friends, it's okay if they're not homebrewers yet, we'll convert them. :-) We're looking forward to celebrating the first year of our club with you. Cheers!!
I come to you today with some sour news. We had an officers meeting last night to finalize the post-holiday party details, and Jeff announced that his grandmother has passed only 45 days after his grandfather. The funeral will be held on January 16th in Colorado, which means Jeff and Carrie will not be able to make the party. After some discussion between the officers and steering committee, and a phone call to the owner of the the isle of Wight hunt club, we would like to propose to you that we postpone the party 2 weeks until January 30th. A polar vortex is headed our way and supposed to cause an extreme drop in temperature that weekend. In addition to that, BOB fest is also being held on Jan 16th, and we felt that it may be contributing to our low attendance numbers to the party.
I ask each of you, that have already committed to going, and your guests to weigh in on this topic because we only have a few days to make a decision. If possible we would like to postpone and hope for better weather and attendance, including our President (and 1st lady). If it is too much of an inconvenience and effects too many members schedules, we will continue with the party as planned with out Jeff and Carrie. Please comment on this post or email Jessi Neeley (as this message will be sent via email as well) with a response.
